Tomorrow is the Spring Equinox, which is a more accurate beginning to the spring season. As the weather starts getting warmer, the chill of the winter begins to liquefy. The earth is saturated with moisture. With this comes the liquefying of any winter accumulation in the body as well, which takes the form of mucous, congestion and colds. This also becomes a wonderful breeding ground for bacteria and parasites.
With only two weeks until the festival, we want to ensure that we are feeling healthy so that we can enjoy our time together. Take the time to take care of your wellbeing in the lead up.
Yogi Bhajan gave a wonderful and simple recipe for this time of the year to strengthen our immune system and keep away bacteria and parasites.
What you do is take a handful of cloves and place them in a small ceramic or glass cup filled with water. Allow the cloves to soak overnight in the water. First thing in the morning, after taking care of your oral hygiene and on an empty stomach, take 3-4 spoons of the clove water. You can continue with this practice for the next month.
You can find our pre-festival Āyurvedic Tips on our facebook page on Sundays, on the Kundalini Yoga Festival website blog and newsletter. Subscribe to our mailing list here.
These tips have been shared by Namo Dev of Conscious Living, our community’s Āyurvedic and Homeopathic practitioner. Namo Dev will also be presenting at the festival as well as offering Āyurvedic tongue diagnosis and Sat Nam Rasayan healing with the Sat Nam Rasayan team. Be sure to drop in and say hello.
